My obsession with Steelhead started around 2002. A friend of mine did a slideshow presentation on British Columbia at the fly shop I co-owned at the time that piqued my interest. Then I met a gentleman named Paul at the Somerset fishing show that gave me a brochure for a house rental on the Bulkley River. That was it! My trip to the Skeena system in ‘03 changed me. The fish pictured above, a wild buck taken on a skated dry on the North Umpqua, transformed me.

Those rivers out West are legendary, and I would love to host you and your friends on those hallowed waters.

The Salmon River is less than three hours from my base camp on the Delaware River system. It has become my home steelhead water. It gets a bad rap, but the water is world-class swing water, and the fish might as well be out of the Pacific salt. I offer float and wade trips, two-hand only swing, focusing on the middle section of the river.

The trips go from dark to dark, and at times, we will be the only people around for hours. It will leave you thinking that you are standing on some coastal river in the Pacific Northwest. And…when you get that violent grab! You won’t want to be anywhere else!!

I have all the quality gear necessary for a successful day. Just bring a smile, and be ready to cast all day waiting for the grab…it will be magical.
