Float in style and comfort in my 16’ Low Profile ClackaCraft drift boat. My boat carries everything you need. I always have high-end Scott Fly Rods with reels and lines to match. I provide leaders if necessary (a bad leader can spoil a trip), tippet, flies, and everything else you would need for a successful day on the water. You can bring your own gear, and I will provide back-up. What I do need you to bring is your lunch, waders, rain gear, good clothing and layers, a fishing license, and a smile. I will have water and snacks.

Each morning I rise early and come up with a plan for the day. Using USGS water data, river height, water temperature, weather and wind forecasts, and my thirty plus years experience in the Catskills…I come up with a plan for the day. Being that I am a dry-fly focused guide, I generally chose a float that I think will have the best bugs and the least amount of traffic. To do this, I move around a lot. Each season I use close to 100 miles of water to achieve this. This encompasses all of the tail-water portions of the East and West branches of the Delaware River, the East Branch from the confluence of the Beaverkill down to Hancock, and the main stem of the Delaware River well past Callicoon.

Full day float trips are 8-9 hours and sometimes extend longer. General practice is count back 8 hours from twilight to pick a starting time. That means at the boat launch and ready to fish. The day usually ends at dark either when you can’t see, I can’t see, the fish stop rising — or you say “Uncle”. After the whistle has blown, there can be a 30-60 minute row out under the stars depending on how the day played out.
